The route is made up of four loops: Green, Blue, Red and Black. The loops range from 3 to 8 miles and total up to 20 miles.

All loops start and finish within the Event Village so perfect for runners looking to go a long distance as you're never far away from your base and food and drink. Plus a constant crowd of people to help you keep going.

RUN WHEN YOU WANT, HOW YOU WANT

HOW IT WORKS

At Luna Trail it's up to you, how you want to take on the challenge of 24 hours. You do not have to complete each loop or take them on in any particular order.

Stop and start again when you want.

AS A TEAM: Team mates will run one at a time to log as many miles / collect points as a team across the 24 hours.

SOLO: You have the choice on how you build up your miles. Some runners choose to do all four loops in order, others find a loop they enjoy the most and repeat.

The benefit of starting / finishing each loop within the event village allows you to plan your nutrition and breaks, or gives you the flexibility to keep going if you are feeling strong.

All runners / teams will be given trackers for safety and timing.

PERFORMANCES AND MEDALS

How well you do at Luna can be measured by how much fun you’ve had, how many new friends you’ve made and possibly overcoming some of the challenges thrown at you by taking part in a 24 hour challenge.

However, we want to give you and your team a target to shoot at. We will be awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze medals based on points you collate for number of loops completed.

(N.B. loop distances may update for 2026 closer to the event)

SIGNAGE AND SAFETY

FULLY SIGNED ROUTE

Running in the middle of the night is amazing but it can come with some obvious stress and concerns.

There will also be hundreds of you out on the loops at the same time, so it is very unlikely that there won’t be a light ahead to follow. Plus, our team will always be on duty!

It is mandatory for all runners who will be running at night to wear a head torch and high viz during night time hours.

The Official Guide will contain all of this information in full.

We will be using reflective signage and solar lights to mark the course at regular intervals. It will be very difficult to get lost - i.e. you will have to go to great efforts to get yourself lost!

Experience running when the stars are out, without the stress!
