THE CHALLENGES : 24HR & DAWN TIL DUSK
What is The 24HR?
See how far you or you and your team can run over 24hrs. Starting at midday on Saturday and finishing 24hrs. See how many loops you can complete and points you can collect.
What time does the 24HR start?
First runners will start from the Event Village at midday and the event will run until midday the following day.
If I enter myself / a team can we switch to another event?
Yes absolutely. We know sometimes with events people get injured or cannot take part. We are happy for people to switch their challenge. We will allow teams to change challenge before they check-in at the Event Village in case its a last minute decision.
What is the Dawn til Dusk challenge?
See how far you and your friends can run over 12hrs. Starting once the sun is up at 8am on Saturday and finishing 12hrs later. See how many loops you and your team can complete.
What time does Dawn til Dusk start?
First runners will start from the Event Village at 8am on Saturday and see how many miles can be clocked up in 12 hours. The latest a runner can start a loop is 7.59pm.
Where can I see the loops?
Draft loops are now available on the ABOUT pages on the website. We will do a route recce in April and see which paths are available to use, and whether we can open up any new paths not previously used.
What is the different between running individually and running as part of a team
There is no real difference. Individuals can choose which loops they want to run and when. As part of a team only one runner can run at a time and the decision over runner order and which loops runners take on is up to the team.
How do I join my friends team?
You need to be invited by a Team Captain. If one of your friends / club mates / colleagues has signed up as a Team Captain and you want to join their team, ask them to send you a link from their entry portal. Please be aware that being invited to enter does not guarantee you an entry. There is a limit to the number of runners we can accept at Luna Relay and even if you have been invited to join a team your entry will not be confirmed until you have made payment.
How do I become a team captain?
By following the entry system choose which challenge you would like to take on - The 24hr or Dawn ‘til Dusk. Select Team Challenge for the event you would like to become a Captain for.
How much are entries to Luna Trail?
Entry fees for the ultra challenges, are the same per person no matter whether you are running solo, or are in a team of ten people. Prices are dictated by the time of year - see the individual event pages or the 'enter' web page.
Entry prices differ however, according to the event you are doing.
Entry fees include a Medal, T-shirt and up to two night's camping.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Can I bring my dog?
No - dogs are not allowed into the main event site at Eridge Park and therefore at Luna Trail due to the large number of livestock and wild animals that live on the land.
Shipping address / 'guest details' requested
You will receive email reminders to complete 'guest details'.
The runner = the guest.
You can log back in to the Easol registration platform and change your shipping address there.
Can I transfer or defer my entry?
Yes you can defer your entry to 2027. If you would like to defer your entry please contact support@lunatrail.zendesk.com.
We may charge £10 per entry deferred to cover event costs already incurred.
Can I transfer my entry to another runner?
Yes you can transfer your entry to another runner until 1st July, 2026. There may be an admin charge of £10.
If you would like to transfer your entry now please contact support@lunatrail.zendesk.com
Can I get a refund?
We can accept refund requests up to two weeks after you first registered for Luna. After this we cannot accept refunds but can allow you to transfer your entry: please contact support@lunatrail.zendesk.com
Or, if you choose to pay for Booking Protection at point of entry, you can protect your purchase and request a refund should you need to cancel for unforeseen circumstances or illness.
What is Booking Protection?
Booking Protection is an insurance service offered to you via our registration platform Easol. With Booking Protection, you can protect your purchase at checkout and request a refund should you need to cancel for unforeseen circumstances.
Will you be offering glamping in 2026?

Who can take part in the Luna Trail?
Anyone over the age of 16 on the day of the event. Luna Trail is an event for Park Runners to Ultra Runners. Whilst there will be some competitive teams / runners the majority of participants will be taking part to enjoy a relay in an amazing environment.
Are wheelchair users and mobility scooters allowed on the course?
We are afraid not. The venue for Luna Trail is very rural with majority of the routes taking place on uneven farm land, on single tracks or through very rutted woodland paths.
What is the distance of the loops / how far will the course be exactly?
Due to the nature of Luna Trail there is no set route or distance. We are leaving the decision to runners on which loops they take on and in which order. Loops will be between 3miles and 8miles. Runners can do a single loop or multiples of loops.
Are spectators allowed at the event?
Yes friends and family can join you. Each entry includes one spectator pass which gives them access to the event and camping. See each event web page for what is included.
What is the Cancellation policy?
Cancellation of the Event by Luna Relay Limited We reserve the right to cancel the Event if: circumstances beyond our reasonable control arise which affect the safety and security of the participants and/or spectators or affect our ability to hold the Event, including, without limitation, war, civil or political unrest, terrorism or inclement weather conditions; or before the Event Date we have not, in our sole discretion, received a sufficient number of applications to ensure that there are enough attendees/participants to make the Event economically viable. Where practicable, we will provide written notice of cancellation to the email address we hold for you. In the event notice by email is not practicable due to timescales we will use reasonable endeavours to provide other suitable methods of notice including text message, updates to our website and radio broadcasts etc. In the event of cancellation of the Event your entry will be automatically deferred to the next date for the Event free of additional charge. We will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for travelling or associated expenses.
ON THE DAY
When will I receive my race pack?
All race packs will be collected from the event village ahead of the events starting.
What time should I arrive?
If you are taking part in the Challenges we suggest you arrive at the event village AT LEAST 2hrs before your start time so you can establish your camping area, and have plenty of time ahead of the event briefing.
If you are taking part in the 10km / Half Marathon we suggest you arrive at the event village 45minutes before your start time to allow you to collect your number and attend the event briefing.
What do I need to bring with me?
We will send out guidance to all registrants closer to the event days on what to bring with them - and this may change depending on the weather forecast.
All participants must carry their own water-bottle or bladder.
Please also make sure you run or hike with a fully charged phone.
If you are running at night, you must wear something reflective and a headtorch.
We highly recommend all runners where trail running trainers and all hikers/walkers where good quality walking shoes.
Depending on the weather forecast we recommend runners carry with them a lightweight jacket. We will have well stocked fuel and hydration stations but we recommend carrying either bars or gels between aid stations.
How do we get to the start line?
Luna Trail is made up of four loops, which our CHALLENGES and 10km / Half Marathon share.
The starts for all four loops are within the event village. The 10km / Half Marathon start a short walk away from the event village, and finishes within the event village.
Will there be toilets on the route?
There are no toilets on the loops, so please use the loo before you start your next leg / before the 10km / Half Marathon.
Will there be a baggage drop?
Yes for all events we will have a baggage drop area by the info area. The baggage area is not secure and items are left at owners risk.
What happens if we get bad weather?
In extreme cases we may need to pause the events if we expect extreme temperatures, heavy rain or gale force winds. Eridge Park is surrounded by very old Woods, and in stormy conditions the woods will become unsafe to run in. We may stop all runners leaving the event village while we assess the conditions.
Cupless event
We will not be providing cups.
All participants must carry their own water-bottle or bladder that can hold at least 500ml of water. Opportunities to re-fill will be available at the event village.
Please arrive at the start with your water bottle filled.
ROUTES
What route do the Ultra loops take?
There are four loops from the Event Village - Green, Blue, Red and Black (if you've been skiing before you know where this is heading). The loops are pointed at different woods on the Eridge Estate.
How far will all four loops be together? We are aiming on trying to make the total distance 20miles if all four loops were completed. There isn't a lot of flat land at Eridge Park so we'd expect total elevation for the 20miles to be roughly 900m.
We are aiming on trying to make the total distance 20miles if all four loops were completed in order. There isn't a lot of flat land at Eridge Park so we'd expect total elevation for the 20miles to be over 1000m.
How are the routes marked?
The loops will be well marked with signage throughout. The signs will be reflective for night-time running. You must have at least a Head Torch to be allowed out onto the route. Luna Trail Relay recommends running with a head torch that is focussed on the path in front of you and a hand torch that is directed further up the route / seeking out course signs. Phone signal is quite strong around the park, so taking your mobile in case of an emergency or you get lost is suggested.
Will there be water / fuel stations on route?
There will be no water / fuel stations on the loops unless there is very hot weather. Please come prepared to carry your own water / fuel during the runs. You will be able to refill your water bottles at the event village and campsite.
Will there be course marshals?
No, the course is not marshalled.
Can a friend / spectator join me on the loop?
If you are nervous about running at night-time solo we suggest running with a teammate. If you become injured and are worried about completing a loop we also suggest taking a teammate. Spectators are attending the event to cheer on runners and should not join runners in completing their loop.
Do I need to do all four loops to complete Luna Trail?
Simple answer is No. Total distance of all four loops might be as far as 20 miles - final distances will be announced closer to the event. If you are running solo / in a pair you might find you complete more than 20 miles total distance but we don’t expect you to run all four loops, nor do we expect you to run in any order. It is your decision.
If you are in a team of ten doing the ‘24’ you would need to cover 200miles in 24hrs, which would be Olympian in effort!
It is likely that as a team you will cover all of the loops but as individuals you may cover 1-3 loops.
What are the half marathon / 10km routes?
These take in some of the ultra loops, and best parts of Eridge Park. They will be challenging but all level of trail runners will be able to take part - don't forget you can walk when you want!
CAMPING
Is Camping included in my entry?
One night of camping is included in the Dawn til Dusk, 10km or Half Marathon entry, and two nights are included in the 24hr entry.
Why do I need a camping space?
For every runner - individual or in a team - you will need somewhere to leave belongings, a space to get changed, a space to R&R, get food and have some time off running. The campsite is effectively a 'camp' for people to go when they are not running. So you may not need a tent or even shelter but you will need somewhere that is yours that you can go to, that is relatively secure in between running
What is the ground type?
You will be camping on a grass field
Will there be an electric hook-up?
We are unable to offer you an electric hook-up for your campsite and caravan
Do you allow camper vans / caravans?
We welcome people to bring caravans and campervans. Due to the nature of the event site we have to position you according to the ground conditions and weather.
How big is our camping space?
We will confirm details in time but Eridge Park is the size of 3,000 football pitches, so we do not expect there to be an issue with camping space
How are spaces allocated?
At this point we expect camping spaces to be allocated on a first served basis.
Is there security?
There will be event staff, marshals and medics on-site at all times however we cannot secure every team's tent. We suggest not leaving valuables in the campsite unattended.
Are there Glamping options?
Yes! You will be able to book glamping soon. Look out for more info.
Will there be showers?
We are afraid that we will not be able to offer hot showers.
Can I have a BBQ or heat food / water up with camping stove?
IMPORTANT: Campfires and BBQs are NOT allowed in the grounds, during the event at any time.
Camping stoves with gas canisters up to 500g are allowed.
